An Uneternal Hapiness

With visions dampened by
experience,
unfazed and triumphant,
we press against
Temptation, hungered and petulant

Found, but manufactured
happiness,
convincing but dissonant,
swells, a crescendo
Breaking, torn and tattered

Assured by our own obstinate
contentment,
tranquil yet stirred,
palatable life, lived,
Given, beseeched and blurred

Driven, the life less known
becomes
a rapture of senses
masking potentiality
Resigned, smiling and sad.
